Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

Laurie Stargell joined the department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Colorado State University in 1996. Her research focuses on investigating the regulation of gene expression in yeast; specifically, using cerevisiaeas a model system with the hope of understanding how the transcription machinery interfaces with chromatin to regulate gene expression in living cells.

Dr. Stargell has been the department chair of the department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology since 2017.
